Botanic GardensHavent skated here much since it is always packed with pedestrians. It is quieter across the river but the road surface isnt as good. Theres a fantastically smooth piece of concrete under the Q.M. drive bridge but theres not much of it. Still its quiet and cool on a hot day and a good place to practice tricks.
bt/business centreThis is the best place out of the centre to skate there is next to no hassle from the pigs and also is very quiet it has a couple of double rails an a massive gap to drop and there are plenty of sweet little ledges to skate on the way to our new skate heaven SKATE ON no wood pushers allowed
buchanan galleries uber nice rails, theres about 8 of them all of different length and steepness. nice stair sets too. good for inline. can only be skated at night as security and police are always about.there are no skateboarding ladies cos none of them can jump high enough to get on the railsel kev
calidonian universitylots of nice waxed benches. smooth concrete uber stair sets and stupid handrails.
cross hill rex (recreation ground)sweet ass vert and alright fun box couple of grind poles a bench a quad and roomer teells a new half pipe and bole is getting bult soonmasta poo
Gallery of Modern ArtThe newly opened museum in the city centre is an ideal skating site because of its smooth skating surface and space. A curb runs all the way around it for practicing your grinds on and consequently you can find quite a few aggressive skaters here. Unfortunately it gets too full of pedestrians during the day so the best times are early morning or in the evenings.
Greenock battery parka new £8000 skatepark has just been built there with all the **** you an imagine there is pools and half pipes but leavenat around ten as all the neds go to it then and cause lots of ****ing trouble
Kelvingrove MuseumAnother favourite site for skaters (and bmxers) since it is surrounded by think sturdy rails. Best times to go are either very early in the morning (before 9am) or after the museum closes (after 6pm)
Kelvingrove ParkThis is probably the best place in glasgow to skate.. forget all the others. The paths are very wide and smooth with no sharp corners anywhere. There are quite a few skaters here of all ages and abilities. There is also a small concrete rink (usually littered with junk that people are using to jump) but the pathways are so good you probably wont want to try it. Ive only ever skated here during the week when it is quiet so I dont know how busy the park gets at the weekends. Inside the park is a small concrete bowl. Its is a bit cracked but it is still very popular with skaters, boarders and bmxers. There is usually a makeshift ramp/rail and obstacles. If it gets a bit full there is a nice area of tarmac close by (follow the path up the hill) which is very smooth.
M8 cycle pathsmooth smooth concrete going on forever from the SECC all the way past partick and beyond. dont know where the smooth stuff finishes. its the quickest non-car motorway in town. watch out for the environmental commuters at half five.woodie
Mitchell LibraryThere is a really nice low rail at the Mitchell Library for all you aggresive skaters out there.
Pollok Park and the BurellI found this road surface pretty nasty and it really saps your strength. I dont think this park is worth the trip out from the city centre but the one way stretch mentioned is worthwhile for people who live nearby.
Pollok Park and the BurellA great place for skating during the week since the roads are fairly quiet (never been at the weekends) The road surface varies greatly from section to section, but there is a great one-way stretch (first no-entry sign on your right) which is usually quiet, so the best times are early morning or in the evenings.
